The genesis of Pretty Ugly was spurred with the ethos that many of us are marginalised by the societies we live in, and these rings represent symbols of strength and courage to stand tall in the face of adversity. Each one in this, the Endangered series, bears a tagline that represents feelings and emotions that manifest within each one of us when faced with a challenge.

The Hawk is inspired by victimisation and the feeling of “fight or flight”. The Pig is inspired by the gender pay gap and the fact anyone should be able to “bring home the bacon”, regardless of gender or ethnicity. The Goat is inspired by victim blaming, the need to be heard and believed and how people are forced to shoulder the blame for the wrong doing of others, “Scapegoat”.
